This one was a very risky explore as the Hotel had only closed in February , with the bar next door still open, however was only made official a few months later.

The owner was known for not paying his staff and was apparently selling out of date alcohol...oh so I heard. As this is just word of mouth.

Pretty much no decay as the place was fresh, however there had been vandals inside and smashed a few of the rooms up, also looked liked the safe had been looted.

Not my type of explore as it felt like the place was still open ,power still running, all the possessions inside, but had to take my chance on the explore as the place is completely locked down now.
One of the many more buildings unfortunately seeking a decline in Hartlepool.
Was told that the place is now up for sale for 300k I believe.

This looks really used, but abused. Looks like its been burgled lol. Usually if a business goes bust, don`t bailiffs clear the place for auction? Not in this case I suppose. Nice find. Its clean at moment apart from a few broken windows, and tossed around things. I hope it stays in good condition, but I fear it will now draw the goons.

Anyway very nice explore there, and well done doing a half & half site, not easy :thumb

It was a risky one this, only been closed less than 6 month but had to take my opportunity when it arrived.
You could still pull a pint in the place but the owner had been selling out of date booze, amongst other dodgy stuff, so he just ran, hes notorious for failed businesses, he owns another hotel in the next town and I fear that will suffer the same fate :(

I remember this place when it was a department store called Dovecote. There was an old fashioned caged lift in there that was worked by an attendant. I'm guessing it has all gone, but it would be nice if it was discovered still lurking behind a false wall.

My brother worked on the door at The Hillcarter. It doesn't look much worse here than it did when it was open!
