Was tipped off about this place by a friend local to the area, he'd driven past it many times but never actually bothered to explore it. One day we decided to actually give it a shot. Can't actually find any real history on the place, i know it was a garden centre run by prisoners of HMP Leyhill that was closed in 2005 due to rising running costs. I believe that the film "Greenfingers" was actually based on the story of inmates of this prison entering the Chelsea Flower show, there was a few bits of promotional material in the house.
Was quite an interesting site containing a shop, various potting sheds, a bio-dome, a large manor house and a stable block.
First up a few pics of the Bio-dome, i have a feeling it was set up to look like a desert scene.
:
Found this box of rusty shears in one of the store rooms.
I'm not gonna lie i did cack myself the first time i shone a torch in to that garage catching a glimpse of that mannequin.
Nice ominous stairway in to the Manor House.
Complete with HMP Leyhill No Entry signs.
The place was pretty empty save for a few UrbEx staples such as a disconnected phone.
A headless scarecrow
Boarded up doors.
Religious Materials.
Of course there's a Wheelchair in here.
Thats really all the interesting shots i got from this explore. Hope you enjoyed seeing them.
