Went on a short trip to Belgium with BigBadAsh and SB80. Only had a couple of things planned but didnt quite manage to see the IM Power station , but we did get to see a fabulous oil reservoir. I had seen a report on it back in 2013 and always wondered why all of the subsequent reports on IM had failed to take a look, i myself had visited the Power station back in 2012 and had not noticed it. Access was quite easy and we climbed the staircase to about half way up and entered the reservoir through a small door, which had a two foot wide metal platform which went all the way round the inside, this seemed a little precarious especially as there was no railing to stop you falling 40 foot to the base, but what greeted us was something quite special. We next went up to the roof before heading over to the Cooling tower. I had been here a few years ago and always wanted a return visit armed with a fisheye. We didn.t manage to go over to the Power station so i will just add some of my pics from 2012
.
I would definitely recommend a visit to the Mazout reservoir if you go to IM.
