Some history from Wikipedia:

The site was used by the German army since 1937 when the cavalry school moved from Hannover, under the name Heeres Reit- und Fahrschule und Kavallerieschule Krampnitz (English: Army Riding and Driving School and Cavalry School). It was until the Russians took control of the area, taking over a day after the Germans abandoned it April 26, 1945. The 35th Motor Guards Division was then stationed there until its abandonment in 1992, after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. In July 2013, the city of Potsdam officially decided to make it an urban development area, construction has however been delayed, due a large number of bats taking up residence

Last stop of the German tour. Unlike most other places where i was surprised at the lack of graff/ vandalism, it was a shame to see here how much had been done here. Still a great explore though, probably the largest military base out there for sure!

Even though I knew the famous swastika had been plastered over, I still spent ages looking for where it had been as I wanted to believe someone had uncovered it again! No luck, I'm sure I must have been in the building it was in! If someone could tell me which building it was in for my peace of mind I'd be eternally grateful!

Anyway on with the pictures:

Was a shame to see the amount of graff in this bit that's appeared over the last two years. Especially since its the hardest building to get into on site by a mile! Still an impressive site though

Almost left the site without seeing this classic scene:

Some of the accommodation looked like it could be easily refurbished for re-use:

Nice report!

I visited Krampnitz five or six years ago and I still think about going back, really really liked that place.
