Lincoln County Hospital - Lincoln - January 2011

This hospital has been on my list for far too long and I would have no qualms in returning. As has been previously reported, the dreaded asbestos contractors are in and they're moving quickly.
Our access was hilarious and to be frank, quite brave. Knowing workers were around and hearing them shouting, singing etc made for a very tense explore. Frequently popping back to the staircase to see them less than 5 metres away was more than fun at times.
Upon entry we were greeted with corridors lined with what you may call 'Asbestos Fences', plastic tunnels with hoovers inside and zippy entrances, in the words of Andy, it looked like something out of E.T
Unfortunately, we didn't have chance to capture the ground floor or basement, which is where we suspected the iron lung to be, although with all the work going on, It wouldn't surprise me if this has now gone. Same again with the lower operating theatres and reception, WAY to hot to hang around.
