Hi. I’m a new member and wanted to say thanks so much for your incredible article and pics of the Waterloo Pier Head. My grandfather lived at the Pier Head between the dock master and the pier master n 1900. He was some type of engineer. I have been trying to find out more about the Pier Head since beginnimg my family history research 20 years ago. Shame the building have gone but the history of this corner of Liverpool is well worth recording. Once again, thanks for all your efforts.
kind regards, Mike Peel (Sowerby Bridge)

If you haven't already been, the Merseyside Maritime Museum archives might be worth a look for info on Waterloo and surrounding docks.

Does anyone know where 12 Waterloo Pier Head was? It was the home of my Grandfather Thomas Atkinson who was Dockmaster at the time of my Father’s birth in 1924

Have you got a link to the article you refer to? My Father was born in 12 Waterloo in 1924.

Also around that area, is the pumping station, that I do believe is part of M.E.P.A.S which is quite big, and I do believe for access and safety reasons has not been explored, or at least, no report has ever been posted. If any liverpool based urbexers could crack that one, I would be in awe, but does seem unlikely, but always remain hopeful :Not Worthy:):hmm:Not Worthy
