A collection of minor explores over the last year or so. Not documented before but equally not worth reporting individually.
Like a previous collection centred around the Old Swan area, this sort of stuff is only likely to be of interest to locals.

Offices. Former offices and warehouse of building supply firm CCF on Rose Place, which has now moved a couple of miles down the road.

Substation. A small substation on Forge Street, built sometime before 1950.
Nothing inside except some tiling, a load of pigeons in the basement and the guts of a dead transformer.

Kirkdale Tunnels. Two short tunnels, built sometime between 1893 and 1907 and disused after ca.1970.
Not a lot to say about these, other than there aren’t any pictures of them. Like the Walton tunnels they begin just north of Kirkdale station, but these ones carry on beside the main line for a while and then stop.
The main entertainment is keeping out of sight of passenger trains which trundle by every 15 mins or so.
Approaching tunnel No 2 (210 yards).

Looking back to admire the portalage again.

Prince of Wales Pub. A listed pub on the corner of Moss Street and London Road, built 1870s, apparently closed 1999.
It looked interesting from the outside with its statues (Prince Albert and Princess Alexandria) but there were only scraps left inside.
It will probably be turned into apartments like the buildings on either side.

Silkhouse Court. If the weather’s good I sometimes head out at lunchtime to see if I can eat my sandwiches on top of something.
This is a mid-height office block which was being renovated at the time. Nothing on the roof except dead lift motors and the view.
I remember this one in particular because I couldn’t be bothered to go back down all the stairs and scaffolding, so walked down a couple of floors and summoned the lift.
Stepping in, I joined the site foreman, his deputy and someone who claimed to be an off-duty police officer.
But they were OK, and ended up trying to convince me that the building was being converted into a giant porno hub (it’s known locally as the cock and balls building).

Always something to see in your reports and this is no exception. Personally, loving shot 2 of that staircase!
