Part 2 off my mooch around the Tri Border Region in Alsace, moving north from St Louis toward Kembs along the Rhine. This memorial is to the French crossing of the Rhine in 1945.

Across the river is a German gun position that has taken a pounding - photos over the river another time.
Then a double height MG bunker along the old Alsace Canal, including original barbed wire to scramble over. Could not clamber into the upper firing position so pics a bit blurry.
