Situated near to the Western Docks in Dover is a large complex of caves believed to date from the early 19th Century. It's usage is debatable but it certainly has been used as a storage facility probably taking in cargo from the nearby Wellington & Granville Docks.

Part of the complex would have had a raised floor supported by joists up to 2ft x 2ft square and in places the ceilings are up to 75ft high. In pick marks are visible while other places have been strengthened with chalk brickwork and arches typical of 19th Century Architecture.
