Apologies for not writing this report back in January! I wrote 2 reports then got busy with work and applying for university and just didn't get around to it.

I went to the old Shell site on Rhosgoch with a friend on an explore day way back in January, we did this site first then went onto Saunders Roe near Beaumaris (http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=47372).

I found this website which explains a little of the history so instead of copy and pasting I'll link to the site:

But a brief synopsis - This site was used to store crude oil received from tankers moored offshore before it was pumped through an underground pipeline to Stanlow. Although expensively built in the 1970s, the whole setup was decommissioned within a few years.

Entry to the site isn't difficult...

Although it offers a plenty of interesting things to see even though the site has been pretty much flattened.

Towards the bottom of the site is a little dammed off section, this was almost totally frozen on our visit.

Then back up towards the other end are a few interesting pipes.

I'd say it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area or as part of an exploration day as there are lots of great sites not far from here. Sorry again for the extreme delay in posting this report!
