PEN-YR-ORSEDD

Explore:
A nice quarry on a lovely day, we where the only people here which was the exact opposite to Dinorwic the day after, since it was a bank holiday there was no chance of running into anyone at the active workings, the two big buildings holding multiple vehicles did not have any access sadly so there will be no photos in that. A nice late afternoon explore.
History
The quarry was one of multiple in the valley and was the last one to close all major operations, it closed in 1979, The Quarry was original served by the Nantlle Railway which would carry slate from Nantlle to the ports of Caernarfon where its station was not to far from the modern day welsh highland railway, The quarry at its height produced 10,000 tons of Welsh slate, using originally horse drawn tramways, later onto the Victorian steam.
The trains where produced De Winston who also produced alot of the trains that operated at Dinorwic in llanberis, one survives from the quarry, a 0-4-0 Loco at the Leighton Buzzard Light railway in Bedfordshire.
