Ive known this place since the mid 80s.I actually photographed this when the last Lady sold it and evacuated. Its original block is late 18th C. and the larger wings were added in the early Victorian era.The Lady had to sell it in 1986 due to death duties incurring when her husband died.It was then bought by the band Genesis [Hit n Run Records,,one of their tax dodge companies] but before they bought the Pennyghael Estate..the Lady slapped a Grade 2 heritage listing on it..hence they where unable to begin a restoration ..the place was pretty bad when i looked around it then..and its now completely rooted. It is however a natural wreck..its demise uninhibited by vandalism..and i quite liked the bathrooms..about the only good thing left. Its now owned by some Dutch who will also never be able to restore it.
