The blast furnace (HF6) was first published in the German version in 1959. The previous year, it took around 50 days, and in 2005, it was the same. It took 10 days, but after 2015, the industrial ruins had to wait. When the former steelworks is ready for use, the power plant will no longer be in the control room's hands.
Demolition work is now well advanced here as well. Some new roads have already been built on the site, and it is only a matter of time before construction of apartments begins. According to government figures, the protected assets are valued at EUR 64.5 million. ArcelorMittal has neither confirmed nor denied this figure.

The site was also part of the Cockerill Group, founded in 1816, which comprised five coking plants, 16 blast furnaces, seven steelworks, and 20 rolling mills between 1960 and 1982. In the past, the best names were often found in the wrong places; during mergers and over time, the names of the partners were swapped. In the end, it was Cockerill-Sambre.

The group was then acquired by the French Usinor Group in 1998 and merged into the Arcelor Group in 2002, which was then acquired by Mittal Steel in a hostile takeover. Today, ArcelorMittal is the world's largest steel company.

However, the Cockerill name lives on today. The company operates mechanical and plant engineering and is currently called John Cockerill. In 2024, the company imported the military vehicle manufacturer Arquus from the Volvo Group.
Today, the company is divided into the energy technology, defense technology, and industrial technology sectors.
