Radford Boulevard Council School is a former infant school built in 1887 and designed by renowned local architect and asylum virtuoso George Thomas Hine. There is also a large newer main hall extension built on to the inner courtyard area. Info on its school years are sketchy but it ended up being named ‘Radford Unity Complex’ when the building became home to some Nottingham City Council staff and also various voluntary projects such as Nottingham Teaching College and the Sikh Community & Youth Service.
The building has been empty since 2014 after NCC moved elsewhere and the various groups moved out after failure of the dated heating system. Its fate is uncertain although it has recently been sold by the council for an undisclosed amount.
The former school is fairly empty, but a decent size and in good condition internally – despite part of it flooding slightly. Some working sensors inside, but doesn’t look like they’re monitored.
