Report - Radford Retail Systems Ltd Nr Bristol 11/8/07

I visited the Radford's factory site which used to manufacture refrigeration equipment yesterday. There is a few bits of machinery left. The buildings are very damaged in places. I come to the conclusion that Radfords closed some time in the 1990s because the latest dates i seen was 1994. But when i got home i found a planning application from 2000 to build four covered storage racks. It was refused.

The Radford brand was purchased by a German company called Linde (to remove some competition from the market!) and all production was switched to the German factories. Production actually stopped around 2001
