Finally got round to seeing this site with Zyge, littlebear and my mate for his 1st ever explore. One that I have wanted to see for a while, but just never got round to doing. So with the school's closed, we thought it would be a great day to go out as had to take the day off work for child care.

My idea of childcare is taking the kids out to get mucky and have fun

I loved this site, the sheer size of it below and above the ground is just unreal. Think I will def be popping back for another visit in the near future.

History
RAF Bawdsey was an RAF station situated on the eastern coast in Suffolk, England. Also known as Bawdsey Research Station (BRS), the first Chain Home radar station was built there, characterized by eight tall masts, four for transmitting and four for receiving. When the research group moved to Dundee in September 1939, the radar station was left active under the name RAF Bawdsey. The site later hosted a Bristol Bloodhound surface-to-air missile station until 1990.

Now for some photos

Yep, she is good with the attitude for the group photos, she loved it in there.... Well until she slipped in the flooded corridor :( Her school loved her photos she took of the place

Looks good mate. Really want to see this place myself, and now I can see it's "family friendly", I've got no excuse :)

Too right mate. Def get down there..

She is a clued up little girl. If I say stay beside me, that is what she dose. Got her a pair of proper exploring boots so she is safe when walking on uneven ground and the aftermath of vandels

Thanks buddy, she is addicted to it. If I edit photos and she did not come with me, she gets very cross ;)
