Ruchill Hopital opened in 1900 and was built with the purpose of treating people with infectious diseases. Around the 1960s, with lessening cases of TB etc it branched out to treat chronic sick, house psychiatric patients and later was the primary hospital dealing with AIDS. The hospital closed in 1998 and is now lying derelict with 24 hour security protection. Here are some photographs I took a couple of weeks ago:

it was extremely dangerous with the roof falling in and the floor collapsed in many places
And this is the old hospital water tower which is a Grade A listed building. All the other buildings are Grade B and are to be demolished.
