Only a short one this as there was much left of this place when I visited has suffered arson and vandalism and really is only a shell in parts so photographed anything that had a feature left, The place had no roof due to the fire and trees and ferns had started growing inside the place all these photos where taken on the 2nd floor which due to the elements made it very spongy and every step could have been fatal such a shame for this place as the woodwork was real nice.
Built for the engineer Sir William Arrol (hence the tooled panel reading "WA"), replacing an earlier house. Seafield House was bought by the Ayrshire Health Authority in 1921 for use as a maternity and child welfare hospital. It was converted to a paediatric unit in 1944, and remained in use as such until 1991 when it became the Health Board's HQ (Historic Scotland).
