Yep, another Sevs report. It's all been covered so much already, so here's some history shamelessly ripped from old faithful:

Severalls Hospital in Colchester, Essex, UK was a psychiatric hospital built in 1910 which first opened in May 1913. The 300-acre (1.2 km2) site housed some 2000 patients and was based on the "Echelon plan" - a specific arrangement of wards, offices and services within easy reach of each other by a network of interconnecting corridors. This meant that staff were able to operate around the site without the need to go outside in bad weather. Unlike modern British hospitals, patients in Severalls were separated according to their gender.

Visited with some of the usual suspects: Olz9181, AnotherMansCause and James (who has joined up here but if he can't even remember what he signed up as, how am I to know? :p)

Really enjoyed exploring here despite the relative lack of items left around when compared to other greats like West Park. A couple of instances of cat and mouse with seccas made things interesting... although one or two things could just have been other explorers, with each of us scaring the others :D

Let's start with some external views of this great place! It seems to go on for miles when you're in there.

As you'll all probably well know, the hall is no longer there due to fire damage and subsequent demolition due to safety concerns :(

One wing had quite a bit of fire damage, which included some holes in floors.

And finally, team Portsmouth in one basement area.
