Continuing my tour of asylums before they are all demolished, decided I wanted to pay a visit to Severalls in Colchester. Hell of a drive down there from the north east, but managed to spend I think about 4 hours in the place... (as well as contemplating one of the higher palisades I've come across which seemed to be located in 'dog-walker-central' at that timeof day). : /
Beautiful sunny day for it, and really enjoyed the wander.. Two negative points were not gaining access to the tower, and seeing the remnants of what I can only assume used to be the main hall.. but all in all a canny mooch. Highlights for me were stumbling into a room with the 'card table' and also crawling about on the roof....
