A mid-century care facility in the village of Shardlow, constructed on land surrounding the historic Shardlow Hall, a handful of miles outside of Derby. The care home also incorporates a pair of WW2 era buildings which were apparently part of a larger POW camp for Italian soldiers and more recently used as stores and workshops for the nursing home. Nothing on the net about this place really and it seems to have closed in 2001 and just sat there ever since.
As with Mooksters report, I’d had a wander around the WW2 era bit some time ago but not the actual old folks home, so when I saw Facebook explorers had started ploughing through it I thought I should take another look one evening with it only being ten minutes down the road.

The main care facility just consists of bedrooms and a couple of dayrooms

Care homes don't make brilliant explores by any stretch of the imagination but at least this one is fairly dated I guess!
