I'm sure you all know sketchley dry cleaning. Founded at the turn of the 20th C, the works dyed hosiery for the many factories Hinckley once had. It gradually grew in the french (or dry) cleaning field, eventually becoming a household name.
The works has looked tired for ages, and was finally shut and boarded a few weeks ago.
The boiler room is epic, dwarfed only by the one at the east works at Longbridge. 4 enormous boilers would boil the hot water needed to wash the thousands of table cloths and overalls that would have passed through each day. 3 lakes at the back of the works provided the water. The boiler room is very old and unchanged, with old machinery a plenty.
