St Columba Episcopal Church was built in 1895-96 and designed by architect M. McColl. A hall was added later to the church around 1914 and is still in use today as a boxing club.

The church is a latin cross traditional plan shape, and has some unusually slender gothic arch windows as well as the use of a star of David design type window on the west elevation, a symbol seen on christian churches, but relatively rarely. The church has always been an Episcopal Church up to its dereliction (date of closure unknown).

Thankfully, some bright weather for the traditional church shadows before the hail arrived, must have been an omen!

There is another abandoned church up the road, i believe it to be the Hamilton Memorial Church. It had been converted into storage premises with roller shutters but doesnt look too exciting, so we left it alone.

On with the phots, but BIG apologies for the first photo. Reloaded, and reloaded but its not having it. Thought it best to include it, to give an idea of the exterior.
