Visited with Rookinella.

An early morning explore, after a shattering early start, on our way to Humberside :crazy

Lets just say we 'posted' ourselves into the place, those of you that know, will know what I mean.

Here's a summary of what we saw...

Corridors, rotting away, big thick walls...

The pharmacy, amazingly this has a virtually undamaged machine in there...

Up the water tower...

The view out from the tower...

IMG_6888.jpg

and the view straight down...

IMG_6890.jpg

The main hall, full of scaffolding...

IMG_6877.jpg

The bottom ladders have been removed but that's no obstacle to getting to the top...

IMG_6922.jpg

In the projection room, an old way of saying STFU...

IMG_6923.jpg

The central stairs have these mesh inserts to stop people jumping...

IMG_6940.jpg

IMG_6943.jpg

The chapel...

IMG_6949.jpg

A row of cells, off a wide corridor...

IMG_6951.jpg

Cell door close-up...

More cells...

and finally, a view along the front of the building...

Re: St Georges Hospital, Stafford - 07/07/07 - REPORT

Yes an excellent trip out on Saturday after a painfully early start and my first trip out with my shiny new D70! The entrance was interesting to say the least but fun :p St. George's has been on my list for a while now so it was good to finally get there. It's a very trashed building but here and there, you find bits completely unchavved. The different coloured seclusion cells were very cool and the "anti-suicidal stairs" were fantastic-I think I took abou 30 photos of them

Anyway, big thanks to OT for showing me round and driving for the whole weekend :thumb
