Last year on our way back from our short and mostly unsuccessful trip around the Czech Republic, we visited this steel mill. It was more of a permission visit since the guard saw us trying to make our way in and we have talked him into letting us see the steel mill. But if you're smarter than we were, there is no problem doing it without being seen. I call it a steel mill, but some metal other than iron was processed there. The mill was quite nice, definitely worth going there. I don't have many photos because we were very short on time, but they do cover the interesting parts. As for history, I have no idea. Not much info can be found online. The steelworks have been there for some time and after 1989 the place started gradually shutting down. Many of the buildings have some sort of secondary use, but the mill is still there.
