Report - Stanley Moor Reservoir - Peak District july 2020

Located in the Peak District in Derbyshire, just outside of Buxton, the pumping plant was built by The Buxton Council Water Works (BCWW) in 1957 to service the now decommissioned Stanley Moor reservoir to the south-west. The two-storey building which has a yellow stone frontage and brick infill panels at the back has clearly been closed for some time.

We visited here on July 2020, just as the first lock down was coming to a close. We did not approach from the road but over the fields and sort of just stumbled across it after visiting the near by lime works.

Not alot left in here, some amazing graffiti and clearly metal cables being taken in the past. But a good explore for anyone in the area, if it is still assessable that is ! I am by no means a professional photographer but i hope you enjoy the

I would go next time you are in the peaks, dead easy to get to from the road, worth a couple hours of anyones time. I doubt the entrance i used has been sealed, there's nothing of value left inside and all the copper has already been nicked so i doubt anyone has taken the time to seal it

Nicely done mate. Ive seen some of the graff in there in other places in derbyshire aswell
