Stephensons Mill

​

Built in 1881. They were responsible for making dyes and colourings which would have been in demand by the neighbouring textile mills across Bradford and the rest of the north.
They also manufactured soaps, polishes and lubricating oils, that would have been used across the city and beyond.

​

I was more nervous going in here than it warranted, i was there early morn & it was so open to the main road I was convinced someone would be in there but fortunately there wasn't.
Its in a serious state of decay & has gone down hill quickly since prev reports.

It does have some photographic charm still though.

Lots of decay, but plenty to see. I like the moody and foreboding atmosphere it has.

Often find myself looking for places “intact/untouched” but I can seriously appreciate the decay of this site being a feature in itself.

Surprised its still there or hasnt been converted yet i thought there was plans to do something with it mind that was a quite a few years back now. An old fav of mine if i ever drew a blank in Bradford looking for new places you could always rely on Stephensons for a wander and i often came accross something i had previously missed. Are the filing cabinets and paperwork still there on the top floor. Thanks for this update btw.

tbh I imagine the profit in converting something like this in Bradford is so minmal noone can be bothered.
the huge one down road still stands abandoned despite being a structurally sound bare shell & overlooking already converted flats, u would of thought they would of done something with that too by now.
