Tertowie house near blackburn in Aberdeenshire I believe used to be a residential school before being used by the Aberdeen college, most of the original school remains but the majority of the house attached to the school was destroyed in a fire in late 2011 and is now merely a granite shell to what used to be.

But the most interesting thing about Tertowie is the underground Nuclear bunker that housed the Grampian Regional Council emergency centre in the 1960s before being closed, it was later reopened and refurbished in the mid 1980’s to be used by the civil defence corps until its final closure in 1998. All of the bunker is accessible as long as you dont mint trekking through the 6 inches of water to go for a look inside. The main 40ft entrance corridor and main entrance hatch still exist including the blast doors into the decontamination area, they hatch at the far end if the bunker where the Emergency exit was is still accessible to a point but is a very small hatch to get out of, only have pictures of the first section of the bunker as my camera packed in, will be returning again soon to venture in further.

Sorry if this was too much to read but felt a good description was necessary.

Thanks Woodyc46.
