Found this undrstated and enormous pub by chance. It is quite understated on the outside, but in fact very lavish on the inside, with tiled walls and floor, huge carved staircase, ornate cast radiators, acid etched glass, the place must have been beautiful in it's day. I assume from its size that it must have been a hotel at some point, but the upstairs seemed to have been some sort of weed growing operation, either that or the last landlord was an avid horticulturist...!!
There was a large function room on the first floor, which at one point had a high ceiling not far away from the scale of St Pauls... as usual it had been hidden behind a false ceiling... ffs!
