On the last day of our trip to Belgium, there had been talk of this place and the trouble that people had recently got into going there. I listened intently to tales of this great stately home being left somewhat akin to the Mary Celeste legend.
It was really touch and go as to whether we would bother going here because of all the rumours of it being locked down and police involvements but like a persistent miner, I continued chipping away at the others to go and give it a go. Like the naughty mow mow that I am, I got my own way and a couple of hours later, we were zooming back to the ferry excitably talking about the wondrous things we had just seen.
I don't know what happened here but also in some ways, I don't want to. The mysteries that I have made up in my head will probably far outweigh the real reason for its abandonment.
