Visited with Shepy and Sonorg.

On the shores of Loch Long, around 1 mile from the village of Arrochar, lies the remains of a 100 year old Torpedo Testing Facility.

In 1908, work was undertaken by McAlpine to construct a Torpedo Range Facility, the range was finally completed and handed over in 1912.

The last torpedo was fired in 1986, after an explosion at another site which was evaluating the same types of torpedoes.

In 1915, the site caused controversy when a Spy was found would you believe it, spying on the site. He was switfly executed.

All that remains of the site, are three workers cottages (all in terrible condition), and the main test site.

In the above photo, this is where torpedoes would have been fired down the range.
