Torrington was a pressoworks, which was best known in days gone for domestic and industrial sewing needles. In later years it manufactured bearings and steering coloumns for Jaguar and Ford. The company was bought by Nastech in the 1990's, who shut the Coventry works in 2001.

At one time this place has been VERY secure, but as usual metal thieves and kids have gone to great lengths to get inside. That aside, navigating the place was not easy. Inspection and the guage dept were very interesting. Quite stripped but a typical works of the period, which has remained largly unchanged inside.

I had been told of an extensive basement, and there was evidence of this, but all doors down there were heavily boarded and it is also flooded:rolleyes:
