Visited with Urban Junky, bit of a random one this.
Mooching around an old scrapyard, lots of crap, metal etc.
"Oh, that looks like a big gun over there"
"Hmm, that is strange, lets take a longer look"
"It has a hatch and a door, lets get in the fucker!"
After feeling like a worlds strongest man competitor for five minutes rearranging large trailers, we were in.
Inside was stifling hot, oily and there was no room at all to move! Can't imagine being the gunner or having to reload the thing back in the day.
Vickers components
Gunners cockpit, you can see the base of the chair where they would've sat, the seat had completely rotten off and was sitting on the floor.
The big red buttons that would've caused the aggro
The Recoil bit
Can't find much info on the thing. I do know it was made around 1946, and would've come off of a Battle Class destroyer, and probably made by BAE.
Enjoy
