I recently undertook a haul across Nevada where I explored a bunch of old ghost towns, an old railroad yard, and an abandoned casino.
Just before crossing on over into Utah, I explored the remains of the former Wendover Air Force Base. The airport is still in use. They actually fly charter jets full of people on gambling junkets into the place! But there is also the decaying remnants of the military base scattered around the surrounding desert.
The base was used to train bomber teams and was home to the Enola Gay. It is where the crew trained. The hanger that housed the plane stills stand as does the concrete pit used to load the atomic bomb ...
