School closed down at the Easter Holidays after years of poor results, which is a shame as it had been a very good school in the past. Pupils were transferred to Bedlington High School after the holidays.
There was limited security when it first closed but after the wiring, lead and copper water tanks were knicked they seemed to give up on the place for a few months.
It seems like so much cash has been wasted by Northumberland County Council on this site, as you can see all of the windows & doors in most of the building has been recently upgraded to double glazed units!
Typically all of the toilets are flooded due to the theft of the copper piping
Every Corridor was strewn with rubbish!
The local kids obviously had a field day after the thieves left!
The School Hall/Gym
The one thing that really struck me was the amount of equipment & instruments that were clearly in good working order but had just been left to get destroyed.
Anyone fancy a tune?
In one passage there was at least 6 overhead projectors sitting!
Kids photo's still adorn the walls
Into the Arts & Crafts Class
Even more OHP Gear left to be vandalised!
It is a crying shame that Northumberland County Council felt it was fine to leave all of the equipment to rot!
Now the Science Class
Nasty Chemicals possibly left to cause harm to whoever!
Thousands of test tubes and other scientific equipment including around 40 microscopes & hundreds of Bunsen Burners lay scattered across the room
This place is a death trap for kids!
Star Of The Week!
Every Cupboard in the place is full of books and things
Every Inch of wire stripped out!
On to the caretakers house!
Only a couple of photo's inside the house, you get the impression that the caretaker either left in a hurry or meant to come back for some of is personal belongings but didnt get round to it as there was boxes of books ornaments & household appliances just left lying on the floor!
Mattress on the floor bed made up with duvet & pillows however the caretaker must have been expecting company on his last night here as the was an unopened durex packet under the pillow and some tissues lol! (Obviously whoever he was expecting didnt arrive or wouldnt be on!
The other bedroom. Strangely this was the only room in the school or the house that had been tagged!!
Living Room...Gas Fire pinched but boxes of ornaments & books left!
All in all a very interesting place, sad that it will ultimately have to be demolished as even though it is up for sale no one is going to buy it when they will have to replace miles of piping & cabling! As for the caretakers house, well again a very desirable 3 bed detached property will probably be raised to the ground also!
