Report - What it was/wasn't

Composed for a different site, but I figured why-the-heck-not, I know it's not in standard format for this site, and I havent seen any 2010 compo reports, but hopefully no one minds. Some have links to the full set underneath

-My Year-

I will not begin by saying this year was epic. No, it was not. It wasn't grand, death-defying, stupendous, or titillating. Ok maybe it was titillating at moments. It were no map-sprawling, jet-set expeditions to the far corners of the earth. In fact 90% of it was in my own backyard so to speak unless convenience arose. Some acquaintances were made, many not, lists created, noncommittal plans made, and very few locations scratched off said list.

It DID had moments of mild (mild) insanity, where intrigue and adventure ran hot in our veins. Fences were hopped and pictures were snapped, while hours whiled away in the name of a manic obsession. We talked about real-life oddities, bit depth and crop factors, industry, shitty movies, overpopulation, and of course, conspiracy. And chodes. It ebbed, it flowed, it came in spades, it came undone. Everything shines a little brighter in retrospect, but I've checked the facts and reminded myself of how it really went down. Maybe a year doesn't need to be prolific and voluminous in order to be epic in its own way? Maybe I'm selling myself short

Norlytho, nothing makes sense until you put it in perspective. Everything is relative to us, and to our expectations. What did I expect? I'm not sure. But I'm pretty satisfied with what I got.
