William Kemp Heaton
Explored with @TunnelMon - after having to leave one site in quite a hurry we decided to head down and see if this place was open. As we walked up towards the place we heard the alarm going off..."just wanna go for it?"
We spent a good hour or so in here, didn't look like much from the outside but once we got in it wasn't bad at all. The power's still on in places too
William Kemp Heaton operated as a day centre for disabled people up until (at a guess) late 2012. Displays inside indicate that it was open at the time of the 2012 Olympics - various signs indicate it was closed/closing in August 2012. Demolition of the site is planned for December 2015, and the land is to be used for flats.
Found myself a friend!
This little bed was tucked away quietly...
Evidence for the suspected date of closure (written on the wall)
All in all, not a bad trip!
