hi,
been driving through woverton allot and have always seen this huge site but never checked it out, so i grabbed some bits and went to have a look. oh this is my first report so go easy on me!!

so this place was built in 1838 by the London and Birmingham Railway Company, apparently due to new a new rail act a railway works needed to be built around the mid-point, as it was considered scientifically unsafe at the time for railway locomotives to move more than 50 miles without further inspection. this site grew fast and in 1846 the London & Birmingham became part of the London and North Western Railway bringing in a huge amount of jobs. most of the houses in wolverton were built for employees who worked here.
Wolverton has a long history associated with providing carriages for the British Royal Train. The works produced Queen Victoria's 1869 saloon.
now most of this site isn't used and some of the original building was knocked down and is now a huge 24 hour tesco, some of if is still in use.

this place is massive and there is loads of rooms a halls underground. it was also very overgrown and quite alot of the floor was missing in some places.

enjoy what i found!
