Some info:
Mining is known in this region since 1501. This mining complex was erected in 1902. For those days it was a very modern plant with the latest technology. It consisted of a mining tower, the engine House with steam carrier, the coal wash, the power station, offices and changing rooms, wash basins, the water tower and several workshops. Ther was also a coking plant. In 1925, a depth was reached with a second shaft of 353 m below ground. About 2600 miners worked at ths site also 64 civil servants and employees.
Despite hope for revival of the mininig industrie, the mine was closed in the1960’s. Some of the buildings are in disuse others are or used for storage. In 2007 the coal bunker of the former coking plant was torn down in 2007 due to disrepair.
