Report - Paris Catacombs 20.01.07 - (24hours underground)

Has been said before, but this is way up there with the best things I've ever experienced... Still hasn't really sunk in...

Myself, Oxygen Thief, The Riddlers, Silverfoxxx, Madmax & Paulo999 headed out of Waterloo on the early train out... with the intention of making this the longest trip so far from the 28dayslater visits!

Soaked in the the Parisian atmosphere on the surface waiting for Paulo & OT to arrive with gas for the first cooked evening meal and Sunday breakfast... we ate like kings.

You just can get your head around the size of this place... the backbreaking tunnels... the deep water... the pothole type crawls... the low roofs... the history... the beauty... the skill of the room makers... THE LIST GOES ON.
This whole environment will bring a sweat to your brow, but the cost for this is tiny. The reward... a fantastic room, corridor, sculpture etc. just waiting to be captured on disk.

Get this down as one of the things you must put in your trolley of life.....
...not only that, went with some top people only added to the whole event. Giggling like girls, telling stories and getting fucking ratfaced made a perfect end... to a perfect trip.

Well, what an amazing weekend!
All I can say is that Sixxfingers has pretty much summed up exactly how I felt about the whole experience too.
It truly was one of the best things I've ever done. Sometimes it was hard and tiring but always worth it.
Thanks again to Oxygen Thief and Paulo999 for their excellent map reading and The Riddlers for supplying a never ending stench of warm dustbins from his arse.
I finally got to put my Ultraviolet LED torch to some good use too.
Like Sixx said it is one of those places that has to be done at least once in your life and It's now making wonder where I go from here to push the envelope further.
The photos go some way to capturing the atmosphere down there, hours from an exit and tens of metres underground, but I'm sure the memories will stay with me for a long time to come.
