Abandoned Former A602 Road, Watton At Stone, Hertfordshire - 04/06/2020

Hi All,
Not really a site photo but an interesting abandoned road one instead.
Today me and my friend Becky went to the Abandoned Former A602 in Watton At Stone, Hertfordshire which used to be a main busy road full of traffic up until it was abandoned in 1986 as of the new bypass road that took over which is the new A602.
Also one of the photos shows me lying down on the ground just for a photo Here are some photos from today.

A bit surreal, but I liked seeing Nature claiming back the road.

Yeah Lol , Everything on that road was abandoned even the river next to the road was abandoned .

Thanks, This road used to have many more trees down it but all have been taken down as a possibility of planning permission to build housing down there and reopen the road nothing has been confirmed yet so it may not happen.

Looks a tighter squeeze than I am use to have done 3 hours of crawling in dustbin tunnels but that’s past my skill !

Found this small piece of history for those trying to locate it - An abandoned section of former A602 near Watton-at-Stone The A602 used to run from Hitchin to Hoddesdon via Stevenage, Watton-at-Stone, Hertford and Hertford Heath. The section from Watton to Hertford has been renumbered A119 (which itself used to run from Hertford to Bishop's Stortford via Much Hadham).
