40 mm Bofors. Semi-sunken, irregular plan, fair-faced brick gun emplacements. Externally revetted with earth, detachment shelter to rear, ammunition recesses within wall thickness.
After spotting a way down into the magazine below I thought it would be rude not to have a look. However the DOB description didnt really match what was down there, looked from a much earlier date to me.
Seemed very Palmerson fort esque to me!
