visited today with clayderman and tank..

great deep shelter this... alot larger than i thought it would be.. it seems the history of these shelters are a bit unclear.. they were built in 3 stages from 1937 onwards, the first part had a chicken wire roof, the 2nd was corrugated iron, and the third all out of brick... there is speculation as to what they were used for as they were such a long run from the town centre!

was a bit strange when we got there as an air soft game was just finishing and it was really misty and smokey from the grenades... hence the haze..

one of them decided to set one of to show us how loud they can be before we left... my ears are still ringing... :(
