Visited with Dodgem, Sidibear & Pigdog.

It was wet, foggy and hard going, but a good day all the same :D

It was on the 3rd November 1948 when Boeing RB-29A Superfortress 44-61999 "Overexposed" crashed on Shelf Moor, bleaklow, killing all 13 crew members. 62 years on and there is still sunstantial parts of the wreckage remaining as a memorial to the brave soles who lost their lives on that day.

When we arrived at the start point, the horizontal snow & sleet was a bit of an offput, but this soon subsided to a steady drizzle with the wind, and the low cloud made pinpointing directions more difficult, but we had an expert guide in Dodgem :thumb.

The pictures are limited due to the conditions, but i hope you enjoy all the same.

Well worth a visit, but please be aware how bleak it is up there and how soon the weather can come in on you.

Thanks for looking :)
