It was my 30th birthday in March, and my wonderful wife to be decided to surprise me with 5 nights away to Fuerteventura, just me and her with no kids! It couldn't get any better! Until I found this place literally across the road from our hotel.
I've tried to look up the history, get old photos of when it was all open and functioning, but I'm having no luck!
From what information I have gathered, it was a huge leisure complex called Baku Park consisting of three main areas, firstly the stalls, bingo, haunted house, restaurant, bbq area and a very interesting sound dome which makes an amazing echo even now it has massive holes it in. The second part of the complex was the Animal Experience area, a miniature zoo type attraction which had sea lions, sharks, reptiles, penguins, donkeys and other animals. The third is the water park. The water park is still there but I believe the other two sections shut down in 2008... so here is what I found...
