Got a telephone call from Irishmanlost one evening, "do you know there's an old brewery near you" he says. "cant be, I would have seen it" I said, "well go and have a look"

There sure was a brewery, but the demolition people had just moved in.

We hit it early the next morning.

The brewery was founded in 1897, brews and kegs Bass and Tennent's Lager, and kegs Stella Artois , however with a number of contracts ending and no potential buyer, the factory closed in 2004.

Inside a fermenting vessel - bit of a squeeze to get in!, and after licking the walls I concluded it was Stella.
