The second drain of the day (report to follow on the first) brought us into Standish near Wigan and was a quick 'plan B' after seeing how st00py our original target was. The entrance looked nice and tall, but within round 50' in the head height halfed with a rotting rusty steel roof which resulted in a major stoop for the next 50' ish. Once through this section a small chamber allowed us a stretch before choosing between two RCP side by side pipes that had what looked like bat boxes(???) attached to the sides for a further 100'. This led to the final chamber before the infall with two iron sewer pipes running across the width. Not a massively long culvert, but better than nothing!
