A large abandoned industrial site in the UK.

The site was constructed between 1916-1918 using over 30million bricks.

The site has been closing over the years and at the time of these visits only a small part was still live.

The main building was the cleanest factory building I have visited. The lights worked and even the lift!! Further into the site you find lots of decay and foliage as nature is taking over.
Demolition is well under way now. May still be a few lil bits left to see here.

Bumped into Clebby and Pop Punk Jamie here on my second visit. Tried to give them a tour but I think I got us all lost. :banghead

1. We start at the cleaner part of the site.

Really surprised at the lack of populatity with this site, I am not really sure why. I thought it was bloody awesome.
Thanks for looking, for a few more of my shots check out British Celanese

I think it had a pretty normal UE life cycle really.

Explorers found it, explored it. Tourists got wind, turned up, got themselves caught (time and time again!) Word goes round that it's not a walk in and the tourbus doesn't stop there any more.

Explorers have long moved on to somthing new and now the place has been accociated with the word 'demolition' people probably assume it's either gone or too risky for them anyway.

Your right tho. It's funny how some places become tour bus central and some hardly get a look in.

I was told it looks like a fair amount left still. Always take anything in UE circles with a pinch of salt. Was told a manoir was sealed in Belgium. We walked in the front door.
Tour busses suit me fine. I wont bother if i haven't been. It means wherever i go should be quiet.

Some well nice shots!

To be fair it was very popular for a while, and a lot of people went who didn't post reports. I remember revisiting at some point in April last year and when we were caught the bloke said he'd nabbed four other groups that day already! Sure, it never became a tourist trap in the same way that the DRI did, but then again you had to actually put a modicum of effort into this one which is enough to deter 90% of the oinks.

I can tell you how to do it if you like, I'm a little far away at the moment..
I saw a couple of pictures of the turbines recently too, looks lush!

Powerstation photos have been on Flickr for a while. Doesn't look much good to me. If the alarms are switched off probably worth a nose tho
