Went here yesterday whilst the girlfriend and myself were supposed to be christmas shopping. I was not very popular after she asked where i`d gone, then looked up at the scaffold.
This place used to be a cutlery factory, when Sheffield had its day. It was built in 1935 and is now a grade 2 listed building. It is now in the process of conversion into city appartments with some funding from the `Heritage Lottery Fund`.
Inside it is very bare as buidling work started last year, so i should have got there earlier really. Its quite big and didn`t have time to look round it all (due to the phonecall) Around this area is a few other old buildings from the cutlery days, which i hope dont get demolished, like the activity down at Shalesmoor.
