Butter Hill MOD site based in upton chester
Marked on maps as an MOD site this area had a military guard during WW2. It is understood to have been a fuel storage site fed from Shell Stanlow and during WW2 supplied RAF Sealand. Ever since i can remember this site has been closed, i have been told that some of the pipe lines are still in use by shell based in Ellesmere Port, but all of the buildings have been pulled down or bricked up.
Not realy a lot to see many of the bunkers and tunals have been weldded up but some are still open, there are piles of rubbish around the site this due to gypsys living on the site for a sort time.
